Sigh.

Government can get so confusing sometimes.
I've been told there's a new bill in the House of Representatives preventing anyone in authority, especially pastors, from saying stuff against homosexuality. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but it sounds to me that this would violate the 1st Amendment, particularly the free speech part. I guess it was more hateful speech that would be prohibited, but I'm not sure.
And frankly, if the American government is going to continue in their role of freedom for all and no discrimination whatsoever, this bill is in the right. For them. I'm not saying I agree with it.
But then, everyone can't be free all the time, can they. In my opinion, if they pass this bill, it's giving special rights to a certain group that others don't have. Plenty of minorities get slandered all the time--particularly those with a different skin colour or religious backgrounds. Definitely Christians, for one. And these groups don't have any laws protecting them from hate-speech, do they? I suppose if the government had to protect everyone this way, they might as well say, 'No one can say anything against anyone ever.' Which really would be just silly.
And you know, even Jesus Himself said things to the Pharisees which would probably be considered hate-speech today.

I'm just saying that it's a hard balance between what's right and what the population wants, and it doesn't look like the right will win. This bill seems it will prohibit free speech mainly for Christians. But you know what? In one sense it's almost better that way. Christ said this His followers would suffer because of Him, and this could be the beginning. We need to be praying that God's desire will be done here...

Yeah yeah, I should probably look the bill up before I start raving. This could be outdated information for all I know. After all, I live in Mongolia, which isn't exactly the best place to get the latest reports on legislation.

So... I'm sorry if this made absolutely no sense. I just heard about this a few hours ago, and I'm still a bit mad/sad about it. I just felt like getting it out.


Anyway. On a different note, I want everyone to know that I am opening requests again. However, in a few days we will no longer have a scanner. The one at my dad's office broke, so he's going to take ours to use. (Haha, perfect timing, I know. I open requests just when the scanner disappears. XD)
This does not mean I won't be able to upload anything. It just means that at the moment any traditional art will take a little longer for me to post here. I'll be able to scan things, just not as often.
