This has a rather strange story. First I must explain that I rarely draw religious or Christian art because, without the proper inspiration, mine turns out preachy or staged or otherwise boring.

This started with something in Romans. I don't remember the exact chapter and verse. The meaning that came out was that we can't do it ourselves; we need a Rescuer. This reminded me of a scene in the movie Luther (the one that came out in 2003, not the really old one), in which he's on the floor praying 'Save me, I'm Yours. Save me...' Then a few days after this I read a poem in which the main character realizes he cannot possibly save himself with his own works, and is rescued by the only One who can truly save. I thought, 'Wow. This is uncanny, I've had the same truth given to me three times in the past week.' I took it as a sign. Ok, maybe not a sign. Divine inspiration. So this was the result.
